Providing doula support to a water birth.

About My Doula Service:

  • Get to Know Me: A free consultation to talk in depth about my doula service, your expectations and priorities and how we would work together.
  • Two Prenatal Meetings: I meet with you and your partner in your home. We will talk in depth about birth, practice comfort measures and prepare for life after birth.
  • Birth Vision: We will explore your expectations and preferences. I will guide you as you create a Birth Vision to share with your birth team.
  • Informational and Emotional Support: I am always available via phone or email for the duration of our relationship.
  • Continuous Labor Support: I will join you at your home or place of birth and provide continuous labor support regardless of the duration of labor. Labor support includes comfort measure suggestions, reassurance, practical assistance, information and explanation of events.
  • Birth Documentation: I will take notes during labor and afterward provide you a timeline of events. I can take some pictures with your camera and capture your labor and first moments with your baby.
  • After You Give Birth: I will stay with you and offer breastfeeding support. I will leave only after your family is comfortable and ready for quiet time together (usually 1-2 hours).
  • One or Two Postpartum Visits: I will visit you in your home to see how adjusting to life with a new little one is going, connect you to any resources you would like and talk over your birth experience.

My fee for these services is $950.

If finances are an obstacle, please contact me anyway. We may be able to work out a payment plan, barter or I’ll connect you with another doula.

*Repeat families please contact me for a special price.

Providing doula support to a water birth.

My Birth Doula Service

I provide continuous support to a woman and her partner during pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks of parenting. I passionately support women and their partners whether their goal is to have a natural, intervention-free birth in a home, birth center or hospital setting; a medicated birth; or a planned Surgical birth that is family-centered.

Preparation: As your doula I will help you prepare for your birth and discern your birth preferences. I will point you toward resources to help you answer your questions and achieve the birth you desire. Throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period I will also help you understand basic terminology, procedures and medical practices to aid you in making informed decisions.

Support: During labor I will suggest comfort measures such as position changes and techniques that encourage your baby to be in an optimal position and assist with guided visualizations and breathing. I can provide suggestions and coaching so that your partner can confidently engage in the birth as a loving supporter and participant.

Working With Birth Team Members: My role doesn’t replace the role of a spouse or other support person; rather, it enhances that persons role through guidance, encouragement and reassurance. My presence will help them participate in the ways they are most comfortable. As your doula, I am part of a whole team where each member has a special role to play in supporting you during this season of your life.

What I’m Not: There are a few things a Doula is not. I am not acting as a medical professional, so I do not provide clinical care such as prenatal examinations or assessment of your baby’s health. The support a Doula provides fits together with, but does not replace, the care of your doctor, midwife, or nurses.

I do not make decisions for you, or speak for you. I will support you by providing information and explanations to help you make evidence based informed decisions, but it’s always you who decides what’s best for you and your baby.
